Scrapbooking, papercrafting, ideas & inspiration with a few random thoughts.

I didn't like where this was going when I started it but it grew on me. I don't know if it is too bright? The challenge was to use ribbon for texture, well I did!!! A lot of it!! Used American Crafts patterned ribbon and SU! ribbon. I stamped the green and orange cs with Big and Little Pieces stamp set from SU! in versamark. I used brads from Making Memories, they sort of look like the pattern on the ribbon.
This is my dad and Lucas fishing in some lakes we have in our neighborhood. They are well stocked and the fish are very eager to bite which makes for fun fishing. I finally got to use some of my My Minds Eye- Bohemia paper and accessories (photo frame, buddies clear strip). The colors worked well for the photos. For some fun I added a fishing lure to the page, but increases the risk of injury :) I used the tearing edge on the white paper and then inked with close to coco.
To print the lyrics on the scalloped paper, I cut it to normal paper size and ran it through the printer, and then taped it back together. The patterned paper is from DCWV - spring slab, I rounded the corners, and chalked with Choco Chip (SU!). The patterned ribbon is from American Crafts, wide brown from SU!. Crochet flower from imaginisce (on clearance of course!), heart pins from Fancy Pants Designs.
This page is for the Splitcoast Variety Challenge #28 - Chipboard stamping. These are pictures of my eldest, Lucas, who got a hold of some baby powder and made a huge mess with it!!! I don't know where I was, but I took pictures for evidence!!! I used Spring Break papers from SU!, photo corner punch, round tag punch and Not quite Navy paper all SU!. The strip of journaling in the middle says "Lucas + Baby Powder - Mom = A very Big Mess!!"
The chipboard has a variety of makers, I covered them with Not Quite Navy Craft Ink from SU! and then stamped with white craft ink using the Itty Bitty Backgrounds (SU!).
I hope to work on the sketches from Sally today, she included a bonus sketch this week. Check out the sketches here: SBSC142 and SBSC142B.
Thank for stopping by!!

Journaling reads: While waiting for the cards game to start Dave and I took some silly pictures. When my son saw the pictures he asked "Is this what you do without us?" I said we were just playing around. April 29th, 2008
This page is for the Variety challenge SBVC27 using thought bubbles. When I saw this challenge I knew exactly what pictures I wanted to use. Our cat has been having hygiene issues so I had to give him a bath, he hates it like most cats. I tried to snap some pictures while doing it because he looks sooooo skinny all wet, he has a lot of hair and is usually very fluffy and look a lot bigger than he is.
This is a close up of the buttons I did. I punched out some of the paw prints from the patterned paper and adhered to the bottom of clear buttons with vellum adhesive.
This is one of my thought bubbles. I used the thought bubbles from Microsoft word added my text and then printed and cut out. I also popped them up for effect.
Until next time . . .

I love this photo!!! I took it on a whim and it turned out great, a great memory!!

Thanks for stopping by and until next time. . .
Here is beautiful Lily on her baptism. This is for Peggy's Variety challenge, Flowers for mom. I used flowers but not for mom. The edge of the photo is sanded for softness. I also dry brushed on Rose Red ink to the edges of the white paper for softness, looks good IRL. I finally got to use some felt flower ribbon I have had forever. Used some truly vintage buttons, from my mom's stash, and some fuzzy fiber.
