Friday Challenges

This is for Sally's sketch last Friday here is the link for the sketch SBSC141. This is a really bright page, didn't plan that but that is how it happened. Finally used a bunch of buttons I have, and I have a lot!! Used the colors from the Celebration Collection from American Crafts, matched up with buttons from walmart, rub-on letters from scrapworks, the ribbon is also American Crafts. Journaling reads: While waiting for the cards game to start Dave and I took some silly pictures. When my son saw the pictures he asked "Is this what you do without us?" I said we were just playing around. April 29th, 2008

I stapled the ribbon on to the journaling strips to have some other splash of metal like the circle tag around the stamp.

This page is for the Variety challenge SBVC27 using thought bubbles. When I saw this challenge I knew exactly what pictures I wanted to use. Our cat has been having hygiene issues so I had to give him a bath, he hates it like most cats. I tried to snap some pictures while doing it because he looks sooooo skinny all wet, he has a lot of hair and is usually very fluffy and look a lot bigger than he is.
This is a close up of the buttons I did. I punched out some of the paw prints from the patterned paper and adhered to the bottom of clear buttons with vellum adhesive.
This is one of my thought bubbles. I used the thought bubbles from Microsoft word added my text and then printed and cut out. I also popped them up for effect.
Until next time . . .

Father

These are some pages I have been wanting to do for a long time!! I took these pictures in April 2002 of my Husband and oldest boy. The sketch is loosely based on a pagemaps/Becky Fleck sketch. I love this photo!!! I took it on a whim and it turned out great, a great memory!!

This is a close up of one of the stickers I have had for years and finally used, I added a chipboard letter 'F' painted with Making Memories paint and then I attached an American crafts metal word tile to it.
This is a close up of the left side of the page, I used my Dotted background SU! stamp and clear embossed it, gives it a cool look. I used the buttons as photo corners. Thanks for stopping by and until next time. . .

Some new pages. . .

Here is my crazy Dancing Machine!!

This is my page for Sally's Friday Sketch, I though I would have trouble with it but when I found these pictures, I had my page. Then I had a real hard time finding the right papers, I wanted fun and I think I got it :)
Here is beautiful Lily on her baptism. This is for Peggy's Variety challenge, Flowers for mom. I used flowers but not for mom. The edge of the photo is sanded for softness. I also dry brushed on Rose Red ink to the edges of the white paper for softness, looks good IRL. I finally got to use some felt flower ribbon I have had forever. Used some truly vintage buttons, from my mom's stash, and some fuzzy fiber.

Until the next Totally Random Challenge on Wednesday. . .

What R U Feeding Me!

Yes, a pretty messy baby. This is my oldest, Lucas, about 6 years ago. I was giving him spinach for the first time and had to capture his reaction on film. He made some funny faces. This is the first time that I did a layout on a tilt, really like how it turned out. Used patterned paper from g. c. d. studio, Red ribbon from SU!, arrow photo turns and corner by Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby), Foam Letters and rub-ons from American Crafts. A different view showing how I popped up the title for depth.
Thanks for taking a look.
Until next time. . .

Happy 4th!!

These are some fun pages I did a while ago but just got to posting. A lot of white space, which is different for me, and I did some doodling!! These are photos from last year at my cousins Julia's house, she has the pool and big yard, perfect for all the kids, then we lit fireworks. I love the colors red, white and blue, I just love how they look together, I have done sooooo many pages in this color scheme.

If you look behind Joey's photo, you can see a tab. That is where my journaling is, it just slides out from behind the picture. The picture is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Here is a close-up of the title. I used the SU! set Independence Day. Used Real Red & Ballet Blue, some circle punches and then placed on a big Ghost Star from Heidi Swapp.

This is a look at my doodling and the other embellishments. Those little stars are soooo cute, can't remember where they are from, just added some thread and tied in a knot.

Thanks for stopping by and leave a comment if you like.
Until next time. . .

Snow Snack

My interpretation of Sally's sketch #138. When I saw it and immediately thought the little flower things to be snow. Then I remember my son eating tons of it this past winter and I had my page.
To add texture to the page I use the Fun Fur, silver cord and silver organdy ribbon, also the Variety challenge #24. I really like how that turned out. For the pictures, I swiped the photo on a glue pad and then added glitter. This really looks cool IRL. Sense the patterned paper is the same color as the background, I inked the edges in Ballet Blue to give some definition and pop.
The snowflakes were punched out of white, blue & Hologram Highlights embossed white paper (embossed paper first and then punches out). The punches are from Hobby Lobby, Paper Studio.

Take some funky fibers and see what you can come up with!! I really adds something different to a page.
Until next time. . .

SCS Sketch & Variety Challange

This weeks sketch from Sally is a Double Page Spread (DPS). Looks like a lot of fun little embellies to use on this one!!!

Here is the link for the Variety Challange from Peggy SBVC24. For this challange we are to create a border using fun and funky fibers. If you don't have any, most craft stores have some, I am using Fun Fur found in the yarn section. Peggy also has two sample pages for us to look at for inspiration, just go to the link for them.
These challanges are a great way to get pages done. Try them today!!
Until next time

Cards, Cards, Cards

I have been a busy card maker this week. My son's school was having a Fun Fair and I was donating some cards to the Country Store. I was really out of practice making cards so it took me a while getting going. I am pretty happy with how it all came out. I really like the blue thank you card using the note book paper. I am probably going to use this as a thank you card for my son's teacher.
This card is cased from a card in Cards Magazine. Love the new fun paper from American Crafts. The sentiment is embossed in white for some substance. I used the Happy Everything SU! stamp set, American Crafts Wide Ribbon, American Crafts Patterned paper, Real Red and Tempting Turquoise CS from SU!
This card was inspired from the SU! catalog. I wanted to use my scraps of colored ribbon and choose the colors based on that. For the sentiment, I stamped on a transparency with black staz on, it looks cool IRL. I used Real Red and Whisper White CS from SU!, Black Grosgrain Ribbon SU!, White Craft ink, Whimsy Jumbo Wheel, and Lot of Thoughts. Bad Close-up of the transparancy window
I love this card!! Really like how it turned out. The paper is from Hobby Lobby (Paper Studio) I inked the edges with Red and roughed up the edges and corners. Stamps: Defining Alphabet and Define Your Life (SU!), Bo Bunny; Elements Clear Stamps, Night of Navy, Real Red, White Craft Ink, Spiral Punch (SU!), Paper Clip, Red Striped Ribbon (SU!). This card is ok. Trying to use up some scrap paper. I thread the ribbon (Michales) through the flower and clear button (SU!)and then tied. The sentiments is from the Spring Solitude set (SU!), stamped in Close to Coco craft ink (SU!) and embossed in clear. Also used Tim Holtz distress ink to age it a little.

Now off to scrapbook.

Until next time.
